Isofoam Premium parquet underlay foam foils

Everything you need to know about foam foils

Under the laminated and laid parquets with modern click-joint an underlay foam foil should be installed.

Main functions of the parquet underlay foam foils

To provide durable protection and flexible support to the most fragile part of the parquet, the click-joint, due to their high loading capacity.

To balance the smaller unevenness of the subfloor, rand to reduce the knocking sound effect as an anti-vibration layer.

It is an important requirement of the coaster foils to be properly hard but maintain their flexibility in long terms.

Why are higher performing underlay foams necessary?

From the available product offer, the cheap EPE foam basic version and the inflexible XPS materials are not able to protect the parquet’s joints in long terms. Due to the continuous load, the joint breaks that results in the slip of parquets, causing lots of headache and extra costs.

If you wish to avoid this and have a parquet that serves over 20 years perfectly in its original aesthetics, you should choose a permanently flexible underlay that provides sufficient bearing force that meets the requirements of the use and load of the given place.

Installation manual

The appropriately prepared plain and smooth subfloor must be cleaned, the spackling and other splashes of paint shall be scraped up, and the overall subfloor should be hoovered.

The foam foil rolls should be installed in tight joints. The foam foil can and must not be overlapped.

If a coaster foil associated with LDPE or ALU foil, the part disposed with self-adhesive ribbon should be overlapped and adhered.

If there is no lamination, steam close and sliding parting foil should be installed between foam foil and parquet.

*Note! If you have infra heating foil, ALU laminated underlay foam must not be used between the thermal foil an the parquet as it significantly restrains the radiated infra heat.

Tip: Before choosing the appropriate underlay foam, the type, measurement and frequency of the load pressuring the parquet should be considered.
